The shared Belmond-Klemme/Eagle Grove baseball team won three of the four games played.

  The only loss came at the hands of conference leader Forest City June 13. Although the Eagles scored first with a run in the first inning, that was the only time an EG/BK player crossed the plate. The Indians scored a run in the second, third and seventh innings to win 3-1 in an away game. Nolan Krauss was walked in his only at-bat.

  The Eagles climbed back to .500 in the June 16 game against visitor St. Edmond. EG/BK kicked off the scoring with two runs in the second inning. The Eagles scored again the fourth (once), fifth (twice) and sixth innings (once). The Saints picked up their lone run of the game in the top of the sixth. The Eagles won 6-1. Nolan Krauss went 2-for-4 at the plate. He hit a single and a double, and scored one run.

  The Eagles played a doubleheader at Britt June 18 to make up for an earlier weather postponement. EG/BK took control of the first game early. The Eagles built up a 5-0 lead after the top of the fifth inning. WH scored twice in their end, but EG scored once more in the final inning to win 6-2. Nolan Krauss was credited with an RBI. The sophomore pitched two innings. He had three strike-outs, and allowed only one hit. Trenton Sorenson had an at-bat as a pinch hitter.

  The second game was much closer, and went into multiple extra innings. The Eagles trailed 3-0 going into the bottom of the third. EG/BK picked up four runs to pull ahead. Each team scored once in the fifth, leaving the Eagles in the driver’s seat. However, WH scored in the top of the seventh, and EG/BK could not answer. The game was scoreless in the eighth, ninth and tenth innings. The Eagles (from Eagle Grove) finally broke through with the winning run in the bottom of the eleventh, 6-5. Nolan Krauss had five at-bats. He pitched six of the innings and was credited with the win. Krauss had five strike-outs and allowed one walk and one run. Ryder Gansen went in as a pinch runner.
