  The Belmond-Klemme volleyball team had a positive week, adding another victory and putting the Broncos in a tie for fourth place in the Top of Iowa Conference.

  When the West Hancock Eagles came to Belmond Sept. 29, the Broncos had their eyes set on a victory. In the first set, Maddison Dougherty gave her team the early lead by serving perfectly, 3-3. The lead continued as Kenedie Gabrielson added two back-to-back kills followed by a kill by Madi Barrus kept B-K up 7-2. The Broncos had great defense by Gabrielson and Jaz Gomez on a block, and digs by Madi Barrus. B-K continued to roll, going ahead 18-12 on kills by Addison McMurray, Gabrielson, and Madi and Allie Barrus. Before the set was through, the Broncos collected 12 kills and claimed victory, 25-15.

  In set two, McMurray had her own back-to-back kills, going ahead 2-0. Ashlynn Willms, and Madi and Allie Barrus showed good defense from the backrow, collecting four digs early on. Madi Barrus went on a nine-point serving run to push the Broncos to a 15-6 lead. Gabrielson took over in the front row with a kill, then headed to the serving line to pick up an ace. McMurray, Jennah Meyer and Allie Barrus produced nine kills, along with an assist from London Young and Willms. The Broncos won 25-12.

  In the final set, Alaina Lyons started the game serving 3-3 to give the Broncos the early lead yet again. Kills by Gabrielson and Madi Barrus gave B-K a 4-1 lead. The Eagles came back to tie the game 4-4; but the Broncos went on a 12-4 run. Allie Barrus and Meyer added four kills in the middle of the set for the Broncos to stay ahead 19-9. Willms served 4-4 as Madi Barrus finished the night with the last kill, sending the Eagles home with a loss 25-13.
