The Richard O. Jacobson Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school. Renewable scholarships of up to $10,000 are offered each year for full-time study at an approved accredited institution.
Applicants to the Richard O. Jacobson Legacy Scholarship Program must be residents of Iowa who are high school seniors, graduates, or current undergraduates enrolling full-time in one of the state’s universities or community colleges for the entire 2020-2021 academic year. (ie: Iowa State, Iowa, UNI, NIACC, DMACC, Ellsworth, Iowa Central, Kirkwood, etc.)
Applicants must be pursuing his/her first bachelor or associate degree or vocational/technical certificate, demonstrate financial need, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Other criteria will include leadership, school and community activities, work experience, honors, family circumstances, a statement of goals, and an online recommendation by a teacher who knows you well.
Students enrolling for a second bachelor or associate degree, or a graduate degree are not eligible.
