The Belmond-Klemme volleyball team travelled to Forest City Sept. 22 to face the Indians.

  The Broncos started off strong with kills by Jennah Meyer and Madi Barrus to tie the game 2-2. The Indians showed just why they lead the conference, pulling ahead 9-5. Kenedie Gabrielson added a kill followed by London Young serving 2-2, but the Broncos still trailed, 14-8. The Indians went on a 11-2 run, and claimed victory 25-10.

  In the second match, Madi Barrus delivered anther kill to keep the Broncos within one point, 3-2. FC pulled farther ahead, 10-3, and continued their run before Gabrielson’s serving gave B-K two more points, 16-8. Allie Barrus added a kill cross court, followed up with digs by Addison McMurray and Maddison Dougherty as tough defense helped on the night. The Broncos added a few more points, and kills by Madi Barrus, McMurray and Gabrielson, but the Indians won 25-14.

  The Broncos found themselves in a hole quickly in the third match, struggling on serve reception, and FC led 8-1. A block by Jaz Gomez and 4-4 serving by Madi Barrus brought the Broncos back into the game, trailing only 11-8. Madi Barrus had a great night in the back row, claiming nine digs in the last set. Ashlynn Willms stepped up, serving 3-3, giving the Broncos their most points on the night. However, B-K fell 25-15.
