On June 10, the Broncos traveled to Humboldt. The last time the Broncos won against the Wildcats was in 2009, and that was the last year B-K qualified for the state softball tournament.

B-K started the first inning putting up five runs. Addison McMurray singled to centerfield and advanced to second base on an outfielder’s error. Madison Barrus followed with a single and stolen base. Allison Barrus scored McMurray off a single. Singles by Jennah Meyer, Ava Negrete and Emilee Dougherty gave the Broncos a 5-0 lead.   In the next inning, McMurray, Madison and Allison Barrus loaded the bases before Ashlynn Willms hit the first grand slam of the game. B-K led 9-3. Jennah Meyer followed Willms with a single and then scored on a single by McMurray. The Wildcats added another run in the second.

It was the third inning when the Bronco offense came alive. Madison Barrus – with a full count while the bases were loaded – hit the second grand slam for the Broncos and put B-K up 18-3. The Broncos added runs by Willms and Allison Barrus to close out the top of the third inning ahead 20-3. The Wildcats came up short against the unstoppable Broncos, losing 20-5.
