Sophomore Allison Barrus claimed two gold medals at the first co-ed meet of the season April 30. The Jim Basye meet was held in Hampton on a perfect night for track.
Barrus ran a 13.46 in the 100 meter dash and a 27.47 in the 200 for first place. The 200 meter dash time was the season’s best for Barrus.
Kenedie Gabrielson won the silver medal in the high jump by clearing 4’10”.
Abby Bates claimed third place in the 800 meter run with a 2:38.96.
Madison Barrus took the bronze in the long jump. Her jump was measured at 14’4.25”.
The Barrus sisters ran with Bates and Aubrey Eckhoff in the 4x200 meter relay, taking fourth place. The quartet posted a time of 1:53.28.
Addie Buseman scored team points in two individual events. The senior placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 87’7”, as well as coming in eighth in the 100 meer hurdles in a time of 18.91.
The distance medley team of Addie Buseman, Jennah Meyer, Gabrielson and Shea Sopher placed sixth with a time of 5:10.07.
The foursome of Buseman, Eckhoff, Gabrielson and Meyer placed seventh in the 4x100 meter relay. The team ran a 56.48.
The sprint medley team of Eckhoff, Gabrielson, Meyer and Sopher ran a 2:09.96 and placed eighth.
