Belmond-Klemme Blueprint

At the fall sports banquet, every athlete and their family comes together for a night to eat and hear the accomplishments of each sport. Parents are able to hear what happened during their kids’ season as well other sports their children weren’t involved in.

The banquet was held in the gym October 23. The teams represented included cheer, cross country, volleyball and football. The meal was brought in by the parents and the Belmond Klemme Booster Klub. Freshman, sophomores, and juniors brought side dishes, while the seniors brought desserts.

A big reason why all the teams are together for the banquet is because it gives a wider audience to each team and they are recognized by everyone. Every coach handed out MVPs, letter winners, all-district, and academic awards. Here are some of them.

Allie Barrus and London Young broke multiple records for the volleyball season. London had 46 assists in a single match, while Allie got 25 kills in the same match. The volleyball team had 56 kills as a whole team for a single match. London was named MVP for volleyball.

This year’s cheer team had 21 members. The MVP was Emma Smith.

The cross country team had Isaac Swenson make it to state for the second year in a row. Coach Albertson had a hard time choosing the MVP, but in the end he chose Isaac.

The most notable football awards were all-district and MVP. Aiden Friedow made all-district first team defense. Robert Naranjo was named MVP.
