The Ron Steveson Cross Country Invitational was held at the Belmond Country Club Sept. 7 on a perfect day for running.
Isaac Swenson was the sixth place finisher in the boys race with a time of 18:47.
Two other B-K juniors finished behind Swenson. Bradan Gabrielson was 30th with a 21:02 and Aldo Martinez placed 63th with a time of 25:58. Seniors Dalton Clark and Aaron Sepulveda were 67th and 68th, respectively, with times of 27:38 and 31:45.
Three senior girls competed in the varsity race. Shea Sopher was the first Bronco to cross the finish line. She ran a 27:28 for 49th place.
Sopher was followed by Lauren Crawford with a 29:51 in 76th and Dora Bobadilla with 30:34 in 84th.
The RS Invitational was the first time for junior high racers.
The B-K boys team placed second in the two-mile competition. They were led by Cash Young, a seventh grader, who was fourth in a time of 16:34.
The team was rounded out by eighth graders Ryan Hartwig, sixth in 16:40; Griffin Paulsen, seventh in 16:44; Alec Herrold, 25th in 19:20; Callum Sifert, 41st in 24:15; and Daniel Rodriguez, 48th in 27:03.
Four eighth graders represented B-K in the girls two-mile. Lila Swenson was sixth with a 19:45. The other runners were Kendra Huedepohl in ninth place with a 20:15, Clementine Sifert in 13th with a 21:39 and Kaylen Morris in 29th with a 25:25.
