The Belmond-Klemme boys basketball team had a long week before they could play, as weather kept the Broncos out of the gym, until traveling to Buffalo Center Jan. 25. The back-and-forth game brought back the tradition and rivalry between both teams.

Triston Yoder came off the bench to score, as Koty Kuhlers had a great first half rebounding. B-K trailed by one, 8-7, at the end of the first quarter. The second half flew by with fast transitions and quick lay-ups pushed the score to 18-12 with the Bison leading at halftime. Kuhlers led the Bronco scoring.

The Broncos came out with great defense in the second half as Kuhlers, Jordan Meyer, and Jacob Diaz all had steals. B-K pushed closer to North Iowa, who led 30-22 heading into the last quarter.

The Broncos played their best quarter, pushing within six points of the Bison early on, but NI’s three-point shooting and quick lay-ups made it tough. The Broncos could only get within four points. B-K lost 56-52.
