The Belmond-Klemme Broncos suffered from a plague of turnovers of nearly Old Testament proportions in their last home game of the season Oct. 1. The Broncos turned the ball over to Woodward-Granger four times in the first half, and trailed 32-0 at halftime.

The Hawks scored on their first drive of the game, then returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter, recovered fumbles and scored twice in the second period, and intercepted a pass that brought an end to a Bronco drive right before halftime.

It was another fumble that cut short B-K’s most promising drive of the night after taking the second half kick-off. The Hawks scored to make the deficit 39-0.

An interception on the next Bronco drive led to the last Hawk score of the night.

The Broncos did score on their final drive. After taking the kick-off at the B-K 42, Cameron Roberts rushed the ball downfield seven times, and scored the lone touchdown. Clayton Pletsch ran for the two-point conversion that made the final score 45-8.

The Broncos take on county and district rival Eagle Grove (2-4) on Oct. 8. The game starts at 7 p.m. in Eagle Grove.
