The Belmond-Klemme distance medley relay team of Tucker Kroeze, Tate Sander, Jaace Weidemann and Jayden Lane took the gold medal at the Umstead Relays in Eagle Grove April 2. The quartet ran the 1600 meters in 4:00.01.
Two other Bronco relay teams earned silver medals: the 4x200 team ran a 1:42.40, while the 4x400 meter team posted a 3:46.85.
A bronze medal was earned by Sander in the 100 meter dash. The sophomore ran a time of 11.96.
Dylan Anderson claimed two fourth places in field events. He leapt 16’10” in the long jump, and cleared 5’4” in the high jump.
Javier Arrian picked up a fourth place finish in the 400 meter run with a 57.52, and was fifth in the long jump with 16’9”.
The 4x100 meter relay ran a 48.38 for fourth place.
Lane was fifth in the 800 meter run with a 2:20.88.
Easton Barrus’ throw of 108’3” in the discus was good for fifth place.
Kroeze ran a 25.75 in the 200 meter dash for sixth place.
The 440 meter shuttle hurdle team rounded out the team scoring with a sixth place in 1:14.75.

Two Broncos brought home gold from the Cowboy Relays in Clarion April 5. Tucker Kroeze easily won the 100 meter dash in a season-best time of 11.33, while Easton Barrus took the top spot in the discus with a throw of 114’1”, also a season’s best for the senior.
Jaace Weidemann grabbed second place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.58.
Two relay teams also claimed silver medals: the 400 meter shuttle hurdle relay and the sprint medley relay.
The hurdle team of Kaleb Carlson, Juan Gomez, Mitchell Hill and Barrus ran a 1:13.23.
The sprint medley posted a 1:41.56, the 14th fastest time so far in Class IA. The race was run by Gustavo Suarez, Kroeze, Tate Sander and Weidemann.
Jayden Lane placed third in the 800 meter run with his season-best time of 2:14.96.
Triston Yoder was third in the shot put with a toss of 39’7.5”. That was his best throw of the season.
The Broncos also picked up a bronze in the 4x400 meter relay. The foursome of Suarez, Kroeze, Weidemann and Javier Arrian posted a 3:44.42.
Suarez and Arrian placed fourth in two individual events. Suarez ran a 2:15.22 in the 800 meter run, while Arrian ran a 56.51 in the 400 meter dash.
The 4x100 and 4x800 meter relays teams also placed fourth. The teams ran a 48.97 and 9:39.90, respectively.
Clayton Pletsch finished fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.02.
Two Broncos picked up team points in the 110 meter hurdles: Gomez was fifth (18.40) and Carlson was sixth (18.52).
Carson Lane was sixth in the 400 meter dash with a 58.86.
Gomez was sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a 1:04.47, while Alex Bartz was sixth in the discus with a throw of 92’10”.
