The Belmond-Klemme boys basketball team was still looking for its first conference win as the 2021 portion of the season expired.
The Broncos could not stop the offensive power of Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Dec. 20. The Cardinals jumped out to a 23-3 lead in the first quarter, and did not slow down before the horn ended the second half. The Broncos trailed 50-11 at the break.
While the Cardinal offense slowed down in the second half, the Broncos were not able to take advantage and lost 79-23.
The boys finished the year with another conference loss. The Broncos were defeated 62-39 at Forest City Dec. 21.
B-K led 11-9 after the first quarter, but could not keep up in the second period. The Broncos were behind 26-15 at halftime.
The boys were outscored 21-13 in the third quarter, and 15-11 in the final eight minutes.
The boys finished the first part of the season 0-8 in the Top of Iowa Conference and 0-9 overall.
