  The Belmond-Klemme boys had a tough week, but it ended on a high note with a big win in Garner May 31. The Broncos started the game with a home run by Easton Barrus that cleared the cars in the left field parking lot to push B-K to an early 1-0 lead. Cole Nelson took the mound and had an amazing night with six strike-outs and only five hits.

  In the top of the second, Jaace Weidemann hit a single and stole a base before Mitchell Hill stepped to the plate with a single that pushed the Bronco runner to third base. Barrus batted a double to score Weidemann and move Hill to third base. Max Beminio put the ball in play and scored Hill. Nelson followed suit with a single, scoring Barrus, before Caydon Christensen forced an error to score yet another B-K run, The Broncos were on top 5-0.

  GHV answered in a big way as Bronco errors allowed five runs to score and tie up the game. The Broncos jump-started the third inning with runs scored by Weidemann, Kaleb Carlson and Hill on singles by Barrus, Beminio and Nelson. The Cardinals added another run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

  The Broncos once again answered back. Barrus led off the seventh with a single, followed by Beminio’s double that scored Barrus. Nelson followed with his own double as the Broncos pushed the score to 10-6. The Cardinals tried to come back, but B-K’s closer Christensen captured the save, only allowing two runs. B-K claimed the victory 10-8.

  Barrus went 4-4 at the plate with three RBIs as Nelson went 2-4 with three RBIs.
