The Eagle Grove baseball team (including players from Belmond-Klemme) played a back and forth battle at Forest City with the Indians June 14.

The Eagles plated three in the top of the fourth to lead 3-2, only to have the home team score three of their own to go up again at 5-3. A two-run fifth allowed the Eagles to tie the score, but they couldn’t manage to push anymore across from there.

The Indians took the lead back for good with a four-run rally in the sixth, and ultimately prevailed 9-5.

Belmond-Klemme graduate Jayden Warren smashed a triple and scored a run, while his brother Bryson Warren reached on a double and later crossed the dish.

Blake Morgan, Brady Beck and Trenton Berhow all hit singles, with Jordan Morris and Berhow credited with an RBI each. Jake Jeske, Jordan Morris and Beck scored the other three runs.

Jake Jeske has quickly become a tough customer on the mound for Eagle opponents to face. Another team now found that out June 15 as West Hancock left with a 4-1 loss. The freshman phenom allowed only two hits and one walk. The run the visiting Eagles did get, they had to earn. He shackled the rest of their bats with nine strikeouts for a nice night’s work.

Bryson Warren hit a double. Walks were issued to Jeske, Cayden Schultz, Blake Morgan, and Jordan Morris. Jayden Warren took a base after being hit by a pitch.

Jayden Warren stole three bases, while Jeske, Blake Morgan, and Jordan Morris each had two stolen bases.

St. Edmond put the hurt on the visiting Eagles June 17 by a 10-0 final.

Cayden Schultz and Jordan Morris got the only hits, both singles. Jake Jeske drew a walk, while Jordan Morris reached on an error, for the only other baserunners.
