The Broncos travelled to Clarion June 4 for the county rival game against the C-D-G Cowboys.

The Cowboys started the game with an intentional walk of Easton Barrus that came back to haunt them. Barrus stole second base and Max Bemino’s double to the fence scored Barrus. Bemino scored off an error as Caydon Christensen reached first base. Pinch runner Juan Gomez used his speed to steal second and a few wild pitches by the Cowboys scored Gomez, making the score 3-0.

B-K added three more runs as Jordan Meyer led off with a double, followed by a walk to Mitch Hill and another intentional walk to Barrus. Cole Nelson put the ball in play and a forced out at second scored Meyer. Hill and Nelson came around, pushing the score to 6-0 heading into the third inning. The Cowboys got on the scoreboard then before B-K went on a hitting fest.

Barrus had his first official at bat, a line drive to left field for a single, followed by a big single by Bemino that scored Barrus. Singles by Jaace Weidemann, Annika Nelson and Hill all added to the scoreboard. Barrus was again intentionally walked, and Beminio hit another single that scored two runs. B-K added another eight runs in the fourth inning.

The Cowboys scored four runs in the fifth and sixth innings before lightning ended the game.

B-K claimed the county championship, 14-6.
