Olga M. Beach, 97, Dows, died Sept. 20, 2022 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Services were held Sept. 14 at First Lutheran Church in Dows. Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery, rural Dows.
Olga Marie, daughter of Ole and Annie (Swensrud) Foss, was born Oct. 20, 1924 on the family farm near London, MN. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Lyle (MN) High School in 1942.
During WWII, Olga was employed at Beechcraft Aircraft in Wichita, KS where she worked as a riveter from 1943-45. In 1946 she attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City. She worked at Wilson’s in Albert Lea until 1947.
Olga married Robert Beach at Deer Creek Luth-eran Church near London on March 2, 1947. They farmed near Dows where she took an active part in the farming operation.
In retirement, Robert and Olga enjoyed traveling and taking bus trips. They often went to auctions and antique shops. After Robert’s passing, Olga took trips with her three daughters.
Olga was a wonderful artist. She loved painting birds, nature and farm scenes. She enjoyed photography and wildflowers.
Olga was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Olga was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Neighborhood Club, and First Lutheran where she was involved with church circles.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and brothers Lawrence, Jay, Edward and Archie.
Olga is survived by her daughters Patricia (Mike) Larpenter of rural Dows, Janet (Mike) Schroeder of Dows, and Peggy (Mike) Miller of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren David, Jill, Eric, Brandon, Katie, Rod and Courtney; great-grandchildren Alice, Max, Zech, Lydia and Sahvana; and great-great-granddaughter Evelyn.
