Kevin Ray Meints, 64, died Sept. 7, 2021 at his home in Meservey. No formal service is planned at this time. He will be laid to rest in the Meservey Cemetery near his parents. Memorials are suggested to the family at 723 6th Street N.E., Belmond, 50421.
Kevin, the son of Donald and Minnie (Stadtlander) Meints, was born Oct. 9, 1956 at Mason City. He attended school at Sheffield-Chapin-Meservey-Thornton where he participated in football, track and basketball, graduating in 1976.
Kevin was employed at several co-ops in the area before starting at Winnebago Industries in Forest City where he worked in various departments for 25-30 years before retirement. He was united in marriage to Robin Hauge, and their union was blessed with sons Tanner and Trevor. The couple later divorced.
Kevin enjoyed building models and shooting guns. He was an avid Hawkeye and Minnesota Vikings fan and rarely missed watching one of their games on television. He also had a keen interest in World War II. Kevin lived in the Meservey area most of his life and was presently residing in his late parents’ home. For many years he lived a life of solitude.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents.
His memory will live on in the lives of his sons Tanner Meints of Belmond and Trever Meints of Kanawha; grandchildren Aubree, Avery and Archer Meints of Belmond; and brothers Kerry (Alma) Meints of Hazel, TX and Kirby (Sue) Meints of Fort Worth, TX.
