Dean W. Faust, 90, Belmond, formerly of Britt, died Aug. 27, 2019 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Services were held Sept. 4 at the Britt United Methodist Church.
Dean William was born Oct. 10, 1928 to Vera Cleo and John “Bill” Faust on a farm north of Kanawha. He attended rural school and graduated from Corwith High School in 1946.
Dean was united in marriage to Carmine Geibel on June 6, 1951. They farmed and raised their family on the Peaceful Valley Farm near Britt for 60 years until moving into the Belmond Community Apartments, then the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.
Dean loved country life, watching things grow, and tending livestock. He spent many years as a storm spotter, watching the sky and reporting to the National Weather Service.
Dean was a member of the United Methodist Church, active in numerous civic organizations, and was a member of several Britt bowling leagues. They also owned Faust’s Home Furniture and helped farmers in later years.
Nothing pleased Dean more than spending time with his wife, family and friends. He was a great conversationalist and prayer warrior! God’s promise… a life lived in Him never ends…. he lives and loves us still!
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law Lisa Faust; sister Jean Ann Paca (Raymond); and brother Don.
Dean is survived by his wife Carmine; his children William (Marilyn) of Sun City West, AZ, Denise (Harlan) Dorenkamp of Belmond, Paul of Mason City, Dawn (Doug) Doughan of Clear Lake, and Donald (Brecca) of Gettysburg, PA; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Carole (Norman) Wallen.
