Craig Larson

  Craig E. Larson, 77, Klemme, died June 19, 2019 at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Britt. Services were held June 22 at the Klemme United Methodist Church.

  Craig, the son of Carold and Thelma (Kluckhohn) Larson, was born Sept. 22, 1941 at Forest City. He grew up in Klemme and attended school there through the 11th grade. He completed high school at Garner-Hayfield. He enlisted in the United States Navy.

  He later returned to Klemme and married Sharon K. Nelson on June 8, 1962 at the Methodist Church. They had a daughter Kay and a son Scott.

  Craig and Sharon farmed near Klemme and were also involved in a variety of businesses. They owned Larson Oil and a filling station in the early 1960's along Highway 69 west of Klemme. The station was also a pickup and drop off depot for Jefferson Bus Lines. Craig started C & S Kent Feeds. He and Sharon managed various golf courses, including Slippery Elm, the Belmond Country Club, Clarmond Country Club, and the Eagle Grove Golf Club. Next, Craig and his son jumped into car sales and body repair at Highway 69 Motors and Auto Body. Later, he started C & S Trucking (now CSKR Trucking).

  Craig worked hard and taught the importance of family and respect for others. He supported his children and grandchildren in their activities. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.

  Craig was a life-long member of the Klemme United Metho-dist Church where he was baptized, confirmed, married, and laid to rest. He sang in church choirs and community choirs and cantatas.

  Survivors include:

  Daughter Kay (Roger) Hanson of Klemme and their children Danielle Hanson of Britt and her children Mackenzie, Austin and Madison; Megan (Brent) Willis of Klemme and their children Ambrea and Cooper; and Mathew (Lezah) Hanson and son Nerak of Klemme;

  Son Scott (Candi) Larson of Nora Springs and their children Morgan Larson of Rudd and Holden Larson of Garner; Jordan (Nicole) Schubert and son Kyler of Nora Springs, Paige (Chris) Bushbaum of Osage, Brianna Schubert of Minneapolis, and Matthew Schubert of Nora Springs;

  Sisters-in-law Phyllis (Ron) Brozik and Lynn (Lon) Hagen; and brother-in-law Jack Nelson.
