Audra Lorrayne Burge was born in Belmond on July 28, 1933, the second child of Gilbert F. and Golda (Carothers) Jones. She died April 10, 2019 in Arizona at age 85. Her ashes will be interred with her brother William at Amsterdam Cemetery near Goodell, with her children in Sibley, and a small part will remain in Arizona.

  Audra graduated from high school in Klemme. In the early 1970’s she moved from Seattle to the Phoenix area, settling in Mesa. She was a licensed process server for the superior court. She graduated from the police academy and served as a Deputy Sheriff of Maricopa County for ten years.

  In retirement, Audra enjoyed spending the summers in Iowa with family and friends. She graduated from the Worldwide College of Auctioneering, a long-held ambition. Her retirement also allowed her to indulge in her life-long love of books and New York Times crossword puzzles.

  Audra was an active member of the Reformation Orthodox Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed fellowship with other members, and particularly encouraged the Bible study classes.

  The church, located in Apache Junction, will host a memorial luncheon in Audra’s honor on July 27 at 2 p.m.

  Audra was preceded in death by her parents; brother William J. “Smokey"’Jones; son Cecil Hanson and his wife Gayle F. (Cook); daughter Catherine Helen Kruger; son Conrad Gilbert Kruger; and nephew Daniel Jones.

  She is survived by her brother Douglas Q. Jones and his son Steven Jones (Darla); daughters Carroll Main Brinkman (Perry) and Coreen Kruger Wiertzema (Gordon); son Charles A. Kruger (Katha); niece Deneen Jones Branstad of Mason City; and grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

  Graveside services in Goodell will be handled through the Andrews Funeral Home.
