The winter of 2020-21 wasn’t going along too bad until Feb. 4 when a small blizzard passed through Iowa. Only a couple of inches of snow fell, but high winds whipped it around.
Then the temperature began to fall, bottoming out at -18°F Sunday morning, Feb. 7. By afternoon, the mercury had risen to just -3°F. The weather forecast is for cold temperatures all week, with lows below zero and highs mostly in the single digits. The average high this time of year is 28°F, and the average low is 10°F.
The forecast for Saturday, Feb. 13 is a low of -21°F and a high of -6°F.
