Are you looking for something fun to do this holiday season? Grab your friends, family, or your significant other for a Christmas Tour of Homes in Belmond. The Skate Park Committee will be hosting a tour of four beautifully decorated homes Saturday, Dec. 18 from 3 to 6 p.m.
The featured houses will be Sue and Rich Beers’ home at 1215 Heginger Drive, Sara and Shane Hansen’s home at 504 Third Avenue NE, Aimee and Tad McKnight’s home at 216 Fairway Drive, and Tony Anderson and Terry Pressley’s home at 303 Sixth Avenue NE.
Each home is unique and will be decked out in Christmas finery.
The Anderson/Pressley home will have a retro feel with vintage Christmas decor from the 1960s and 70s as evidenced by a tinsel tree and bottle brush tree.
Hansen’s four square family home, built in 1914, will be decorated top to bottom with holiday treasures. The home received a complete exterior renovation in 2020 with new siding, windows, doors and roof.
The McKnight home (which was Aimee’s grandparents’ home) was recently renovated with mid-century modern decor
The Beers’ home will be glammed from top to bottom with Santa collections, family favorites and trees, trees, trees.
Sugar Pie Bakery will be open for tour goers to enjoy some homemade holiday treats, hot cocoa and cider before carpooling to the homes, so be sure to arrive early. Tours begin at 3, 4 and 5 p.m. Tickets will be sold the night of the event at Sugar Pie.
Please reserve your spot and tour time by sending an RSVP to Dawn Barkema (515-571-2130), Brenna Barkema (515-571-3407) or Connie Mattison (515-571-3253) so an estimate of attendees can be determined prior to the event. Your payment will be collected at Sugar Pie on Dec. 18.
Proceeds from the Tour of Homes will go toward renovation costs for the nearly 20-year-old skate park in 2022.
