Trick or Treat in Belmond will be held Saturday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. Homes that wish to participate should have an outside light on to let children know they are welcome.

Children will be asked to stay in family groups, with at least six feet spacing between unrelated groups. Communal bowls from which children choose their own candy are discouraged. Treats should be handed out at each home using gloves. Treats could also be placed in separate bags for each child. Masks should be worn by all children as well as those handing out candy. If there is a concern about food safety, parents may want to buy a small amount of favorite candy in advance to be eaten that day. Candy obtained by trick or treating could then be allowed to “rest” for several days, allowing any germs on the wrappers to dissipate.
