Next week the Winnebago Scout Council will be hosting Scout Me In recruitment nights. A meeting will be held in Belmond on Monday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Jacobson Elementary. Everyone is welcome.

Family Scouting is open to sons and daughters in kindergarten through 5th grade. This means your family can have fun and make memories while learning skills like leadership, citizenship, character development, fitness and more that are camouflaged in fun for kids.

Attend a Scout Me In event to learn more and get signed up. You will receive a map and compass to start exploring the great outdoors and Scouting. The map and compass will take you and your son/daughter to the Scout Shop to get a uniform and handbook. Then there will be a pack meeting followed by the Explore the Outdoors event at Ingawanis Adventure Base where you can explore archery, BB guns, hiking and much more.

After you are signed up, you are invited to Ingawanis Adventure Base in Waverly for an afternoon of fun on Sept. 28 from 12:30-4:30 p.m.

You may contact the Winnebago Council at 319-234-2867 to find out about other Scout Me In nights. The Winnebago Council serves the counties of Wright, Franklin, Hancock, Cerro Gordo and others in northeast Iowa.
