Governor Reynolds announced Friday morning (April 17) that all schools in Iowa will remain shuttered through May. This means at-home learning will continue through the end of the scheduled school year.

   All spring sports have been cancelled.

   There was some discussion that classes may begin as early as August 3 in order for students to make up lost ground. Indeed, schools are required to submit a "return to learn" plan to the Department of Education by July 1 that could include things like summer school, enrichment activities or other programs to address lost learning.

   Belmond-Klemme's 2020 Prom has been moved to Sunday, June 14. The new date for high school graduation has not yet be set.
