The Wright County Supervisors agreed Monday to hold a special election on March 3 next year for rural voters to decide if they want to continue the local option sales tax that is collected by businesses not inside a city.

This vote would be for rural residents only, and would determine if the extra penny should be collected for another ten years. The tax has raised about $340,000 so far.

Board members also watched a video taken by a drone that shows the condition of Drainage Ditch 107 in Norway Township. The supervisors are trying to decide if the ditch needs to be cleaned out. A meeting with landowners will be set up to talk about it.
