The Belmond Chamber of Commerce is now taking nominations for the annual community awards. The honors will be presented at a dinner Tuesday, March 17 at Cattleman’s at the Club.

  Nominations are being accepted until 3 p.m. Feb. 21 for the following awards. Each nomination should be on a separate form and in a sealed envelope. Forms are available at the chamber officer.

  Outstanding Lifetime Community Service by a person over the age of 40

  Outstanding Community Service by a person under 40

  Team Effort Award - a group that has benefited the community through volunteering

  Sunshine Award - an employee of a local business with a positive attitude who goes above and beyond at work and in the community

  Outstanding Religious Leader - chosen by the Ministerial Association.

  Youth Award - a student 18 or younger who has helped the community through volunteerism

  Guardian Angel - a person, living or dead, who has worked to better the community
