Librarian Sonya Trager provided the city council a report Dec. 6 about the activities at the Talbot Belmond Public Library during fiscal year 2020-21.

Although Covid-19 has changed how some people use the library, and access was restricted for five months, use of the facility has been relatively steady.

Trager said that her staff continues to offer curbside service, delivery, plus phone and online assistance. Some activities moved from in-person to online or take-home. Other activities, such as Lego Club and in-person book clubs, have not yet resumed.

One book club meets online in the winter and in-person during the summer.

The library staff encourages the wearing of face mask and social distancing. Extra cleaning and sanitizing continues. Cloth furniture was recovered in vinyl to make it easier to clean.
