For 41 years, the Belmond Area Emergency Food Pantry has been supplying emergency food to people in need. The food pantry serves people in Belmond, Goodell, Klemme and Rowan.

The food deliveries include canned and packaged foods, as well as meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, dairy products and eggs. There is no income limitation and confidentiality is honored. Deliveries are usually made on the same day that food is requested, and there can be only one delivery each month to a recipient.

Anyone who needs a food delivery is encouraged to call Mary Boelman, president of the pantry’s board of directors, at 515-368-1192, Trinity Lutheran Church at 641-444-4147, or any pastor in Belmond. If you know someone in need of food, you are encouraged to call to arrange for a delivery.

The pantry is operated by the churches in Belmond, and its board of directors meets twice each year.

The food pantry accepts monetary and food donations at any time. There are donation sites located in local churches.
