The Belmond Promotion Council’s annual Autumn Family Fun Festival will be held this Saturday, Oct. 9 from 1-3 p.m. at Swimming Pool Park.

New this year will be a craft project “Be A Hero” with capes and masks provided by Building Families. Some of the games planned include pumpkin bowling, ghost story readings, pumpkin decorating, pumpkin golf, bean bag toss, pumpkin checkers, tic tac toe and more.

Hayrides to Crown Point Park to choose a pumpkin will run continuously. Pumpkins will be free for children who return a coloring contest entry (which will be sent home with B-K students this week). One free pumpkin per child. The contest entry forms will also be available at the Belmond library. Pumpkins will be $1 each without a contest entry.

Families can build a scarecrow for $10 (or bring back a previously purchased scarecrow and restuff it for only $5). Everything you need to make a scarecrow will be provided.

Food vendors will be selling fall’s favorite foods. Call 641-444-4597 or 515-571-0224 with questions.

Rain date will be Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
