The Wright County Supervisors did not get good news Monday morning when they opened bids for new roofs for the courthouse and professional building.
Allers and Associates Architects reported that only two bids had been received. Sadler Construction of Eagle Grove bid $619,000, while Sande Construction of Humboldt bid $819,000. Both were significantly higher than Allers’ estimate of $517,000 for the total project. The architect chalked this up to it being an unusual time with coronavirus and companies concerned about material shortages.
The board accepted the Sadler quote.
The supervisors also took action on drainage ditch brush control. They approved a two-year proposal from Joe Harrah to work on 180 miles of ditches for approximately $102,000.
