Members of the Wright County Board of Supervisors took a tour of the old Ramsay school building Monday that is slowly being prepared for a daycare center. Dr. Bradi Arnold, president of Colts Corner Daycare, talked to Belmond City Manager Darrel Steven Carlyle, Supervisor Rick Rasmussen, Larry Turner (president of Build a Better Belmond), Supervisor Dean Kluss,  Supervisor Karl Helgevold, and Sarah Holmes of Wright County Economic Development.)\

The supervisors are looking into ways they can spend federal Covid-19 dollars that the county will be receiving. It may be possible that some of the money could be used for daycare operations in Belmond, Clarion and Eagle Grove.

So far, asbestos has been removed from the building, and a number of non-supporting interior walls have been taken down. Progress has been slowed lately due to a disagreement with the federal government.
