The Belmond City Council will hold a public hearing Feb. 15 to gather public comments on a $2 million loan to rebuild five blocks of Third Street NE this summer.
“We will use the bond proceeds plus some surplus funds from the 2018 street project,” said City Manager Darrel Steven Carlyle. “We will also use some water, sewer, and storm sewer funds. We won’t know exactly how much the project will cost until we open bids.”
The work will start at First Avenue NE and go east to Sixth Avenue NE. The 400 block of Second Avenue NE may also be included if the bids are low enough.
