An emergency medical fundraiser for the Troy and Heidi Watne family of Belmond is now underway. Troy, 51, went to the emergency room July 20 with abdominal pain. He was taken to Mason City hospital the next day for pancreatitis. His condition deteriorated and he is now in an induced coma and on a ventilator.

An online auction is planned to raise money for medical bills. Items can be dropped off at the home of Melysa Watne, 1321 Reed Avenue, from now until August 10. The bidding will run on Facebook from August 15-21 under the name Troys Warriors. Auction winners will be notified. Questions may be directed to Melysa at 515-571-0531.
